Conservative MP v his mother’s plans to build homes in village, but not quite on the scale of Feniton

9 Feb

Jacob Rees-Mogg, Conservative MP, is to present a petition in parliament against his mother’s plans to build 19 new homes on the edge of Hinton Blewett, the Somerset village where he grew up.  Opponents say the development on farmland, that includes both terraced and detached homes, is too big for a place with a population of 155.

So how come our MP Hugo Swire didn’t present a petition in Parliament against EDDC’s plans to build up to 300 more homes in Feniton, increasing the size of the village by 40%.

40% of 155 homes would be 62 homes and Rees-Mogg is complaining about 19!
