Planning and Growth: the facts, summarised by the Local Government Association thus

Over the last 40 years, the private sector has built an average of 130,000 homes a year. And the evidence shows that private housebuilding numbers are driven by the state of the economy, house prices and the access homebuyers and house builders have to finance. If we want to see a significant increase in housebuilding, councils need to be allowed to do more.

This publication sets out the debates we really need to have about planning and housing supply if we are to achieve the levels of housing this country needs.

WE think that means affordable housing but we think EDDC believes it means more luxury housing on AONBs!
