EDDC appeals to Information Commissioner: refuses to release relocation information as requested by the Commissioner earlier

3 Apr

The Information Commissioner told EDDC to release information about relocation.

EDDC has appealed this decision.

Presumably hoping to stop release of information until after Overview and Scrutiny Committee reviews the decision in June so that they do not have this information either.

There is a rather wonderful satirical book just published in the UK (translated from the German) byTimor Vermes’s called “Look Who’s Back”.

It imagines an Adolf Hitler sent by time machine to the present day, and follows with some amazement how well he gets on in modern Europe. Needless to say, the media lap him up – something of a ‘character’ for reality tv shows.

He’d love it down here too. Ever increasing public speaking restrictions, b-s press releases, blatant untramelled self-interests and paranoid refusals to share open information. Just the way it should be done.

All the utter nonsense about sharing its relocation plans with “stakeholders”, which flows from EDDC like muck from a spreader, is the mark of an organisation run by fools or knaves or both.
